Black, 1950s dress with a full, pleated skirt. Also, a larger size. The full, skirt really adds a nice swing and movement to this vintage dress. All black, it has 4 large, white plastic buttons on the front. False front opening with attached interior fabric shirt. Gives this dress a slight sailor style look. Short sleeved and below knee length. Great vintage dress from the 1950s!

Metal zipper and hook closure in the back.

Date : Late 1950's. Hard to read union label looks like it has "AFL-CIO" on it. This would place it after 1955.

Waist : 28in./71.12cm
Hips : Full skirt
Length (back of neck to hem) : 40in./101.6cm
Hem : 1-1/4in./3.175cm
Sleeve Length : 6in./15.24cm
Condition : No rips, tears, holes or stains. Has string style loops for a belt, but no belt. Does have several mends along the seam of the right armhole and about 2-1/2in./6.35cm down the right seam just under the right armhole. See photo which has been lightened for easier viewing. It is difficult to describe, but there is some slight fading of the color particularly where the pressed folds of the pleats are on the skirt. Difficult to see except when in full sunlight. Also, common for vintage garments and adds to the charm!
